oh to be don draper(not richard whitman). to live in a time of high modernism (style). to be able to do what i wanted with little or no consequence. to smoke in the office (even though i don’t smoke). to be able to drink on the job (the days wouldn’t seem so long). to take a four-martini lunch (lunch couldn’t come soon enough). to be able to go on a business trip and not come back (and still have your job when you do). to be a mad man.
